"Walla Walla County. Madame Dorion Bridge; named in honor of Marie Dorion, a member of the Overland Astorians in 1811-1812. View East on Walla Walla River which at this point is lake Wallula formed of backwaters of Columbia River after McNary Dam was completed and another bridge was constructed West on a higher level to afford pleasure boats to pass."
