Description
"The Treaty Tree standing near the site of the original St. Michael's Mission N.E. of Hillyard. Under this tree in the early 1860's Chief Peone of the Spokanes pledged the latter to lay down their arms and wage no more war on the whites. The deed to the property upon which the tree stands provides the tree shall never be harmed."
