Art Work of the Inland Empire: Eastern Washington – Northern Idaho was published by the Harney Photogravure Company of Racine, Wisconsin in 1906. Published in nine volumes, the entire work is only sixty-seven pages. Each volume contains around seven or eight pages of photographs and the remaining pages are one essay which runs throughout the volumes. The essay begins with a description of the geological ages and then continues with the history of the Inland Empire up to 1906. The essay’s author is not given and neither is the name of the photographer or photographers. The photographs are all scenic views of the area, including waterfalls, lakes, forests, and a couple of views of Spokane.
