Grant Elementary school, 5th or 6th grade class of 1976-1977

Picture of the 1976-1977 5th or 6th grade class of Grant Elementary School. In 1972 Edison Elementary, a school in the East Central neighborhood with a diverse study body with one of the highest enrollments of Black students in District 81, closed and the students were transferred to Grant Elementary School. As a result, Grant became one of the most diverse schools in the district.
