Subject
Washington Water Power Company; Dams -- Idaho; Cabinet Gorge (Idaho)
Description
"Cabinet Gorge Dam, constructed on a spectacular canyon on the Clark Fork River in Idaho, is the second largest of WWP's nine hydro electric facilities. Working 24 hours a day, workers drove the two 1,000-foot diversion tunnels and erected the coffer dams only eight months after the company received its Federal Power Commission license. The first of four 50 megawatt generators went on line in September 1952."
